Find Correlations With Discover

Let Discover rank every pair of your metrics by how closely they move together, even a few days apart, and read what it finds.

Updated

Discover, part of Kaizora Plus, searches for you: it looks through every pair of your metrics and lists the ones that moved together most clearly over the last 365 days.

Open Discover

Open Correlations in the sidebar, then the Discover tab. Without Plus, it shows what Plus adds.

Read a Finding

Each finding reads as a sentence, such as “Higher Time Asleep goes with higher Energy Level the next day”, with how strong it is:

  • r runs from −1 to 1. Near 0, two metrics hardly move together; from 0.3, the least Discover lists, they do somewhat; from 0.7, closely. A negative r means one rises as the other falls.
  • Over N days is how many days had values of both.

Discover pairs metrics on the same day and up to 3 days apart, so a late night can show up in the next day’s resting heart rate. Choose a finding to see the two metrics on Compare’s chart, the second moved back by those days.

What It Leaves Out

A pair needs at least 30 days with values of both. If nothing is listed, no two of your metrics moved together clearly enough yet: track more, for longer.

A Correlation Isn’t a Cause

Metrics that move together don’t show that one causes the other: both may follow something else, such as the season. Treat a finding as a question worth looking into, not an answer.
