Log a Value
Log anything from the Log button in the header, in whichever unit you have, with its time, device, and notes.
Updated
Everything is logged from one place: Log, at the top right of every page. Press L to open it from the keyboard.
Log Something
- Choose Log. It asks What are you logging?
- Search for it, such as “weight”, “blood pressure”, “food”, or “transaction”. The page’s own types come first (On This Page), then what you logged recently (Recent), then Everything Else. On a page with only one type, or on a metric’s page, the form opens straight away.
- Fill in the form. It’s titled for what you’re logging, such as “Log weight”, and shows every field, the most common first. A long form groups the rest under headings.
- Choose Log. A message at the bottom of the screen confirms it, such as “Weight logged”.
Saving needs a connection: while you’re offline, the form’s Log button is disabled and says Needs a connection. See What Works When You’re Offline.
Some things are logged as one entry with several values, because they mean nothing apart: a blood pressure reading is its systolic, diastolic, and pulse; a lab result is its analyte, value, and the range the lab printed. Others are a single value, such as a weight or a body fat percentage, each logged on its own.
Type It in Your Own Unit
Each number has a unit menu at its end: type your weight in pounds or kilograms, your waist in inches or centimetres. Kaizora stores the value exactly and shows it in your display unit wherever it appears, so a value never drifts. You can type the decimal separator you’re used to, such as a comma. See Change the Units Kaizora Shows.
Set the Time
The time starts at now. Change it to log something from earlier. Something that lasts, such as a night’s sleep, an activity, or a sauna, has a Start and an End.
Add the Device and Notes
- Device: choose what measured it, such as your bathroom scale, if you’ve added your devices. Only the devices that measure that metric are offered, and those that list nothing.
- Notes: anything worth remembering, such as “after a run”.
Things You Can’t Log
Values Kaizora calculates for you, such as your body mass index, net worth, or a score, can’t be logged: they come from what you log. See Which Values Does Kaizora Calculate?
